Denyers started out in business in Melbourne in 1899 as a reseller and manufacturer of veterinary products.

Around the turn of the 20th century the company started manufacturing and selling prostheses and other surgical / rehab products. Over the next couple of decades the emphasis moved progressively more towards surgical products, and in 1918 Denyers designed and manufactured its first surgical operating table.

In the mid 1950s the manufacture of wheelchairs commenced and by now Denyers was manufacturing surgical tables and accessories for all Australia’s major hospitals.

1981 saw the release of the new Denyer XRT series operating tables with patented head-into-leg system which gave an unprecedented 1,400 mm uninterrupted C-arm access, and in fact many modern operating tables still struggle to reach this level of access. It is high credit to the product line that the XRT3000 is still a table of choice in some hospitals, basically the same product released in 1981.

In 2007 Denyers  released the first in its new range of electro-hydraulic operating tables, the XRT4000 and then in 2008 followed this with the state-of-the-art slide-top XRT5000 which subsequently evolved into the XRT6000 released in early 2015. Each of these operating tables is a “ground-up” design incorporating a number of unique and patented features to fulfil the requirements of today’s varied and challenging surgical requirements. They are all Australian designed and assembled in Denyers’ Moorabbin factory.

Over the years Denyers have developed a number of innovative surgical accessories to compliment the standard / conventional accessories normally provided as part of a surgical table package.  These accessories are now supplemented by the world-leading and extremely comprehensive Allen range for which Denyers have exclusive Australian and New Zealand distribution, plus a number of other accessories and disposable products from leading national and international producers.

Denyers have a modern CAD design department, a comprehensive mechanical workshop, electronic workshop and in-house upholstery department, meaning we can design and manufacture almost any accessory or support that may be required.

In 2009 Denyers took over distribution, installation and support of the KLS Martin range of theatre lights and pendants and these have been more recently supplemented with the Italian ACEM line of procedure and examination lights and FSN monitors and other audio-visual routing and integrated theatre products.

Through a well established and trusted reputation with hospitals and local healthcare providers, Denyers have established and maintained an unrivalled record of service, innovation and quality, resulting in world class and expanding product ranges which places Denyers as a leading player in high-quality and innovative products for the operating room, ICU and ED departments of major hospitals.
On the rehab front, in 1989 Denyers released the innovative Vector series wheelchair which was designed and remains product of choice where sturdy reliability is paramount. The lightweight Aero series was introduced in 1999 and the XL bariatric series followed a little later.

Denyers International is a 100% Australian owned and operated company.
